Magnificent Joe to release debut album

Reggae dancehall star and one of the Gambia’s rising sensations-Magnificent Joe, is at the final stages of launching what is anticipated to be his debut album. Proudly presented by LMVP Records, the forthcoming grand launching of the album entitled ‘Legal Movement’ is slated for June 15th at the Alliance Franco Gambienne along Kairaba Avenue.


It would be recalled that the reggae dancehall cum afro star who shut to stardom several years ago still remains a leading figure in the country’s entertainment scene. Being a household name in the country, Magnificent Joe is optimistic that the latest move is just the tip of the iceberg.


Recorded at various recording studious notably in Gambia, France and Belgium, the 10-track CD boasts of high-quality sound and represents one of the rising star’s best artworks. Starting his musical career several years ago, to be precise at his former school (alma mata) Armitage Senior Secondary in Janjangbureh in the Central River Region, Joe over the years has proven to be a star par excellence.


Having participated in a number of mega compilations both nationally and international, the reggae dancehall sensation in 2009 was the winner of the Chartburster contested by different artistes in the country courtesy of the Gambia Cellular Company (Gamcel).


In an interview with What’s On, Magnificent Joe explained that there are quite line of events in making this debut album launching stressing that it also coincided with his 27th birthday anniversary. He underscored that some of the thrilling songs in the album include; ‘Happy Hour’ ‘Stay Away from Drugs’, ‘Don’t Hurt the One You Love’ and the most hit song that stormed the country’s airwaves-‘Huum in the Name of the Lord’.


The rising dancehall star further stated that some of the rising star namely Nova, the City Boys-Slam G, Jalex aka Akuntu, Negrophil, Balla Ranks and many more are expected to grace the events. Magnificent Joe further used the opportunity to call on his fans to come out in their numbers as their is a big line up of packages for them.
