Make best use of the summer holiday - NAPSA chairperson urges students![]() Wednesday, August 05, 2009 The chairperson of the National Patriotic Students Association (NAPSA), Momodou Salieu Sowe, has called on fellow students to "make best use of the summer holiday." The student leader's call came as schools in the country break for the summer holiday. He was speaking to the Daily Observer during an exclusive interview with this reporter, recently. The main aim of the summer holiday message, according to Sowe, is to put students on their toes with regards to issues affecting their education, such as mass failure in school, mode of dressing, student-teacher relations, among others. These, he said, are some of the factors contributing to the low level of education in school. Sowe's advice for his colleagues is to marry to their books and take their academic work seriously. To this end, he urged them to use the summer holiday wisely and avoid wasting their time on the beaches. This, he maintained, is a sole factor of student failure in school. Describing students as future leaders, the NAPSA chairperson implored on all to take the issue of their education up to their heart, noting that education is the key to any success. The student leader also threw an appeal on parents, calling on them to play their role in ensuring that their children do not waste their time clubbing and going to the beaches. He used the opportunity to express profound gratitude to the ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and Honourable Seedy SK Njie, for their invaluable support to NAPSA, in making sure that there is quality and relevant education in school.
