Man, 34, admits causing death

One Longinus Onyiliagham, a resident of Bundung, on Monday pleaded guilty to causing the death of one Sainabou Jaw of London Corner before Magistrate Lamin George.

He was arraigned before the Bundung Magistrates Court for rashness and negligence causing death contrary to Section 221 of the Motor Traffic Act. According to the particulars of the offence, the fatal car accident occured at London Corner between 8.35 to 9.00 on August 18, 2009, when Longinus Onyiliagham drove a commercial vehicle with registation number BJL 8976D in a rash and negligent manner, thereby causing the death of the said Sainabou Jaw.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant 1042 Kujabi applied for the case to be adjourned.  Magistrate Lamin George granted the application and ordered that Longinus Onyiliagham be kept in remand. 

The case continues on September 7.
