Man arraigned for manslaughter

One Seedy Jeng of Brusubi was on Monday, August 13th , 2012 arraigned before Magistrate Isatou Janneh of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court for rash and negligent act causing death.


According to the particulars of the offence, the accused, Seedy Jeng on the 16th July 2012 at the Brusubi Turntable, drove a motor vehicle with registration number ‘KM 2050 A’ truck in a rash or negligent manner, which caused the death of one Dembo Jatta (deceased).


One police officer Sergeant 1446 Kebba Manneh of Kombo South Tanji was the first prosecution witness. Manneh who is attached to the Brusubi Mobile Traffic Unit revealed he recognised the accused. PW1 said he issued a warning letter to the accused and at the time there was no license with him (the accused person).


The prosecutor Sergeant 1883 Bojang who stood for the IGP applied for an adjournment and the case was then adjourned to the 23rd August 2012.
