The Brikama Magistrates Court presided by Magistrate B Mahoney, on July 15, 2009, convicted one Mamadou Salifu Barry, for illegal charcoal production.

The conviction fallowed after the accused person pleaded guilty to the charged. The magistrate said the court would convict the accused on his own plea of guilty and sentenced him to a fine of D2500 in default to serve 3 months imprisonment. Corporal Colley represented the IGP at the trial.
