Man docked for defilement

One Musa Jabbi was on Wednesday arraigned before acting principal Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara of the Bundung Magistrate court, charged with defilement of an under-age girl, contrary to Section 127 of the Criminal Code.

According to the facts before the court, Musa Jabbi, on May 22, 2008, at Tallinding, he unlawfully had a carnal knowledge of a girl (name withheld) under-age, without her consent.

When the charge sheet was read to him ,he pleaded not guilty. Police prosecutor Inspector Mballow, applied for the court to adjourn the case in order to bring his witness. The case was then adjourned to Tuesday March 10, 2009, for the prosecutor to open his defence. Musa Jabbi was however, granted a court bail.
