One Lamin Jaiteh was on Monday arraigned before the Bundung Magistrates’ Court presided by Principal Magistrate Edward Singhateh. T


he accused person, Lamin Jaiteh on count one, was charged with house breaking contrary to Section 281 Cap 10 Volume 111 Criminal Code, Laws of the Gambia.  The particulars of offence revealed that on or about the 15th August 2012, in Brufut, Kombo North, West Coast Region, the accused broke and entered into the residence of one Modou Lamin Bah with the intention of committing felony, thereby committed an offence.


Whilst on count two, the accused person was charged with theft contrary to Section 251(m) Cap 10 Volume 111 Laws of The Gambia. The particulars of offence stated that on or about the 15th August 2012, the accused stole one pedal bicycle valued at D2, 500, seven jean trousers valued at D1, 500, three sports shoes valued at D2, 400, an hoover speaker valued at D2, 500, a gas bottle valued at D500 and a timberland shoe valued at D1, 500, all these items amounting to D10, 900 being the properties of one Modou Lamin Bah, thereby committed an offence. When the prosecutor read the facts of the case, the accused person pleaded not guilty.


At that juncture the prosecutor handling the case Sergeant 1883 Bojang applied for an adjournment for prosecution to open its case on the 17th September 2012. The accused person was subsequently granted bail with two Gambian sureties who should deposit valid ID cards with D7, 500 and must swear to a means of affidavit.
