Lamin Dibba, a resident of Bakau Wednesday appeared before Principal Magistrate Sheriff Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with attempted rape contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

The particulars of offence revealed that the accused on the 1st March 2012 at Bakau, Tamba Kunda took a five-year-old girl (name withheld) in an incomplete building and attempted to rape her by undressing her naked, thereby committed an offence. The accused pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile, the presiding Magistrate ordered for the accused to be remanded in prison. The case was adjourned to the 17th April 2012.
