Friday, February 05, 2010
Manding Mabally Cultural Band, an afromanding, Ndaga and Salsa music group is soliciting for assistance to release album.

The group, which has just finished its 6-track album entitled ìKambengoî, a mandinka parlance meaning ìunity, basically preaches unity and togetherness.
However, the group, over the past years has been chanting for positive messages, which much emphasized on the need for reconciliation despite people belonging to different political parties. The band which started playing music four years since then has performed in  anumber of places including the Tourism  industry and other social functions.

According to one member of the band, they also performed in Senegal and are recently featured on GRTS TVís popular  weekend show - Gaudi Samdií, a programmes which features Gambian talents. The 12-man band, which uses local instruments such as drums and piano, in the last four years has assisted a number of school children by organising shows, the proceeds of which is ploughed back to assist students.  The entire band members at that juncture paid glory tribute to the late Musa Njie, alias ìFlying Lionî of Penchabi, who passed away last month. ìThe band is currently soliciting assistance to enable us release our album. Our doors are also open to participate in international festivals and carnivals,  if given the opportunity,î.

Anyone willing to support the band can contact them on: 7782496 or 7636955.
