Mandingo waxing stronger in Danish reggae chart

Africa » Gambia
Friday, January 22, 2010

Mandingo is one of Denmark?s new rising reggae stars in recent years.

Just recently he has begun doing regular solo concerts, but his energetic style and powerful barritone has taken the Danish reggae audience by storm. However - if you've kept an eye on the Danish reggae scene during the past 2-3 years this shouldn?t come as a surprise.

For a rather long time the half- Gambian half- Danish reggae dancehall artist has worked as backup MC performing around Scandinavia with Danish dancehall artist Chin. Furthermore, he has also worked as MC for several Danish sound systems including the famous Universal Sound , Rootsman Hi-Fi , All Prophet , and People's Choice .

Mandingo 's style is rootical with a new age flow - inspired by artistes such as Sizzla and Capleton - but with his own personal and distinctive mark. Source(http://www.dancehall.dk/artists/mandingo)
