Manju United of Basse Mansajang beat Interior 2-1 in the finals of this year’s edition of the Basse Annual Nawetaan Football Competition.

Manju opened the scorings in the quarter hour mark through strikerLamin Jallow. But the two sides still went into the break tied 1-1 after Lamin Fadera scored to ensure parity for Interior just six minutes before the break.

Manju came into the restart with more determination but it was their experience that won them the coveted title as Interior stood up to the challenge they posed until forward Tarru Jallow scored a superb free-kick to win his side the title.

As winners, Manju United of Mansajang went home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of D6,000 while Interior took home a consolation prize of D4000. Among the spectators at the match was the governor of the Upper River Region, Omar Khan.
