Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates Court yesterday, discharged one Sulayman Ceesay, a Guinea Bissau citizen currently living in The Gambia, following an application for withdrawal by the prosecution.

He also ordered for Ceesay's immediate deportation to his native country. Delivering his ruling, Senior Magistrate Mbacke revealed that the prosecutor handling the case has informed the court that the accused has been re-examined by the Phychiatric Unit at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, and a report to that effect was issued and tendered in court by the prosecution.

He pointed out that the report recommended for the accused to report to the said phychiatric clinic on a monthly basis for treatment. He revealed that the accused's actions in threatening to kill or injure neighbours makes him a threat to society. "It's very risky for him to be allowed to live and move freely in the Dippa Kunda neighbourhood. But his relatives in Guinea Bissau may be able to take better care of him if he returns," the magistrate said.

The accused, some time in February 2009, along the  Banjul-Serrekunda highway threatened to kill one Ernest Jatta, Marie Jatta and Therese Jatta with a knife.
