Minister Tangara assures President JammehMonday, May 07, 2012 Mamadou Tangara, the minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Tchnology has assured the president of the Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh of his resolve and commitment to do his utmost for the accomplishment of the targets set for the government, in general, and the higher education section, in particular. In a letter accepting his reassignment to the said Ministry, Tangara renewed his loyalty and my unflinching support for the attainment of the noble ideals and lofty goals in the interest of the Gambian nation. The letter reads: It is with honour and delight that I acknowledge receipt of the correspondence referenced PR/C/VOL. 16/(104) of 24th April 2012 informing me of my reassignments as Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, which I accept with gratitude and appreciation under the terms stipulated therein. In the wake
of your recent pronouncements on the urgency to redouble efforts in order to
realize our national vision and objectives, it is apparent that the much needed
human resource base cannot be built and sustained in the absence of a vibrant
higher education sector. Therefore, I solemnly wish to reassure you of my
resolve and commitment to do my utmost for the accomplishment of the targets
set for your government, in general, and the higher education section, in
particular. I am confident that your visionary leadership and wisdom will continue to be a source of strength to complement the experience I have gathered over the years, to which you have contributed immensely. Your
Excellency, please allow me to sincerely renew my loyalty to you and my
unflinching support for the attainment of the noble ideals and lofty goals you
