MINOR CHANGE AT GFA![]() Monday, June 25, 2012 Impeachable sources have disclosed to Observer Sports that there has been a minor change at the Technical Department of the Gambia Football Association (GFA). According to multiple sources, Kebba Masaneh Ceesay who until last week was the technical director at the country’s supreme football governing body has been demoted to the position of assistant technical director with immediate effect. In the same vein, Musa Njie, the former general Manager of the Independence Stadium and Friendship Hostel has been appointed as the new technical director of the GFA. Musa Njie was a former Gambian international football who later went on to to study in the United States of America. While at College, he was still playing football both at school and at international level. He was later made the deputy director at the Department of Youth and Sports working under then Director Cherno Bara Touray. He became director after Cherno Bara left. He was later made the technical adviser to former Youth and Sports Minister Samba Faal before he became the general manager at the Independence Stadium and Friendship Hostel. When
contacted by Observer Sports, Abdou Salam Jammeh, the acting secretary general
of the GFA confirmed the appointment of Musa Njie and the demotion of Kebba
Masaneh Ceesay. GFA calls off sensitisation tour In another development, the Normalisation Committee of the GFA regrets to inform the general public that the proposed countrywide tour to stakeholders in the regions in a bid to sensitise them on the changes at the helm of affairs of the GFA, re-organisation of the GFA League, restructuring of football in the regions and review the GFA Constitution with the view to amending and aligning it with the FIFAaccepted statues has been postponed until further notice. The
postponement of the sensitisation tour is necessitated by unforeseen
circumstances beyond the control of the GFA. Nonetheless, the Normalisation
Committee wishes to reassure the general public and its major stakeholders in
the regions of its burning desire to continue working with them for the greater
good of the game and would duly inform them of the new dates of the tour as
