The Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh continues to receive more congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 16th Anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution. The latest messages came from one Alagie Jallow of Kanifing South and Ebrima Cham, director general of Gamworks.

The messages read:
On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to extend cordial congratulations to Your Excellency on the 16th Anniversary celebrations of the July 22 great Revolution, and to wish every success to you personally and unity and wellbeing to The Gambia.

I am confident this day, which is so important in the history of our Dear Motherland and in which major events will be directed by you personally, will be celebrated, as always, joyfully and vivaciously, but at the same time with due regard for its significance. The sixteen-year journey we have made is a wonderful moment for celebrating the achievements attained and reflecting on future pathways to build a strong, secure and happy nation. Therefore, we should remain firm in our commitment towards the founding principles of our republic of Peace, Progress and Prosperity, and collectively face the challenges ahead.

Congratulations for taking The Gambia where it is today. You have proven time and time again what hard work and dedication can produce. I am sure that, as long as the sun is shinning above this great nation of ours, Your Excellency will continue to do what you always have: Put your heart and soul into everything you do for our advancement.

You are a remarkable man with a delightful personality and a wonderful intellect. We are lucky to have you as our leader. For me, there are always surprises with Your Excellency and Gambians should know that there are amazing opportunities with Your Excellency being the President of this great nation.

Taking the opportunity, I pray to the Almighty Allah to give you long life, happiness, good health and foresight to attain Vision 2020 and transform The Gambia into a City State. I have the strong belief that this will happen very soon, Insha Allah. May God bless you; The Gambia ever green!
