The Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, continues to receive more congratulatory messages on his desk at State House on the occasion of the Gambia's 45th Independence Anniversary, New Year-2010 felicitations and letters of appreciation.

That our Dear Motherland has indeed come a long, long way from July 22nd 1994 to date; in so far as this Ministry is concerned, concerned, constitutes an under statement in light of the fact that tremendous and sustainable human, socio-economic and institutional development strides and programmes, responsive to the priority needs of both the citizenry and non-citizens alike have been attained and registered.

That your government has and continues to provide for the enabling environments, i.e. constitutional, legal, regulatory, policy and programmatic for the realization of the Objective of "Vision 2020, The Gambia Incorporated", Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the PRSP II leave no stone unturned.

Your Excellency, your governments' unwavering commitment to further strengthening democratic good governance in the country has never failed to arouse the admiration of all well meaning and sincere people including the indigenes that constitute your direct constituents and major stakeholders. Provision of goods and services for them in the social, productive and infrastructural sectors bear ample testimony to their raison d'etre for continued support to APRC and veritably, the government. We will continue to have detractors, but they shall fail as they come, one and all! Equally important in our development strides is our cultural realm which you continue to positively project to the extent that the Kanilai International Festival has become a household name not only at home, sub-regional and regional levels but the Diaspora at large. Cultural good governance contributes to development as it converges with the other realms of good governance i.e. political, administrative, economic and corporate to constitute Systemic Good Governance.
