Murder case transferred to SCDWednesday, September 16, 2009 The Kanifing Magistrates Court presided over by the Senior Magistrate, Abdoulie Mbake, yesterday ordered the transferr of the trial involving one Bubacarr Tunkara to the Special Criminal Division of the High Court. When the case was mentioned, the presiding magistrate told the court that the accused did not need to take his plea as the case was to be transferred to the High Court. He stated that the magistrates court is competent to handle such cases but because of the establishment of the SCD, all capital offences have to be transferred there. According to the prosecution, the accused, on the 6th of September 2009, at Kairaba Avenue, murderd one Ahmed Sheriff, a Turk, by stabbing him with a knife.
