NAMs on leadership and management training![]() Friday, June 12, 2009 At least thirty National Assembly members, last Wednesday, began a two-day training on leadership and management at the Seaview Garden Hotel in Kololi. The training was sponsored and facilitated by Youth For Christ, The Gambia. Youth For Christ is an international organisation in over 120 nations globally and 34 countries in Africa including The Gambia. As part of the training, members of the National Assembly will be trained on leadership overview, wealth creation and think possibly among other leadership skills thereby improving their ambitions of leadership and management as well as their imaginations. In his opening remarks, Donald Ousman, vice president for international operations at the Youth For Christ described the training as vital noting that it will help to create avenues for good governance and perfect leadership for the members of the National Assembly. According to him, leading human beings is not an easy task, but argued that good leadership always create better development. He further expressed belief that if the has to be transform into a city, her people must be ready to work hard and quickly reminded the National Assembly members that the enormity of task ahead of them needs good leadership as they are the hope of the people. Sulayman Joof, National Assembly member for Serrekunda West, described the training as an instrument for good leadership even at the family levels. He thanked the Youth For Christ for the bold initiative. Sunday Olanipekun, Worroom Gambia Limited, told the members to work together for good leadership adding that the training would not be enough but believe that what they learn will be implemented.
