NAPSA, CONAEGUIB sign MoU

Africa » Gambia
Monday, February 15, 2010
Following the working session of the student associations’ representatives of Guinea Bissau and The Gambia during the four-day visit of NAPSA to their counterparts in Guinea Bissau, and after a fruitful reciprocal exchange of experience for the improvement of their future strategies, the two students’ union bodies on the 11th of February in Bissau decided to translate into writing, a partnership agreement in the areas of academic exchange between the two unions.

This would also include unconditional support between the two student unions, to create a forum for consultation as a form of elaborating aims and objectives, defining priorities and project future actions and to keep both parties informed in a bid to create a good relationship environment. To a large extent, the MoU is also meant to jointly fight against female discrimination within the student community as well as supporting the struggle against Hiv/ Aids, to organise a sub-regional conference on the theme: “African Union”.

On the above stipulated provisions, the present agreement in Portuguese and English languages signed by representatives of the two student organisations of the two countries -  Momodou Salieu Sowe, chairperson of NAPSA and Mouridou Ka of CONAEGUIB - enters into force from the date it is signed and it is renewable at the end of a four-year period.
