Ndungu Kebbeh stages road race

Africa » Gambia
Wednesday, June 24, 2009
The Youth and Sports Development Committee of Ndungu Kebbeh village in the North Bank Region of The Gambia has fixed July 4, 2009, as the date for their long-awaited road race which is meant to raise fund to support community projects in the village.

Jim Kebbeh, a member of the organising committee has told Observer Sports that the day-long event would feature both male and female races starting from Ndungu Kebbeh  Basic Cycle School ground. Kebbeh, said the registration for the event is open and called on interested participants to come forward and register at a cost of only D10 (ten dalasis).

He added that the first three winners in each category would bag a cash prize, while certificates of participation would be awarded to each participant. The proceeds realised from the event, he added, would be used to acquire extra furniture for the Ndungu Kebbeh Basic Cycle School.
