Friday, July 16, 2010
The Gambia Scouts Association (GSA) recently organised a four-day management training for its newly elected executive members in a bid to strengthen its management capacity in steering the affairs of the  association.

The training held at the Gambia Girls Guide Association's hall in Kanifing, is facilitated by the World Scout Bureau. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Malang Jassey, the director of Youth and Sports, commended the association for their swift response to their action plan.  He said that the training will avail them the skills to empower the young people in taking part in national development.

He also thanked the World Scout Bureau for supporting GSA in conducting such training. For her part, Kassa Sanneh, the new president of the association said that the purpose of the training is to arm themselves with management skills.

"The task would be easy, because the training will also enable us the skills to mobilise funds," she noted. Pa Omar Bojang, the deputy Chief Scout Commissioner, believed that the training would give them the tool to work with the members of the association, to contribute towards meaningful development.
