New health post inaugurated in Sami

The governor of the Central River Region, Alhagie Ganyie Touray last Saturday, inaugurated a new  health facility worth over a million dalasis at Jamali Ganyado village, in the Sami District, Central River Region North.

Sponsored by Corn Wall Link in UK, the new health post was facilitated by the chairman of the Methodist Mission, Norman Gregg, and pioneered by Ousman Njie, a native of Jamali. In his inaugural address, Governor Touray commended Corn Wall Link for their humanitarian gesture. He pointed out that the building of the clinic for the people of CRR, will go a long way in complementing the government's efforts to provide adequate health facilities for every Gambian.

He further spoke at length on the importance of health in national development, noting that, health, education and agriculture are the top priorities of President Jammeh's government. The head of Corn Wall Link, Ellen Horner, called on the people of the area to make best use of the health facility and to ensure proper upkeep of the facility. She thanked the community for their cooperation towards the successful completion of the project.

Kebou Leigh, the chief of the area, thanked Corn Wall Link for their benevolent assistance noting that the health facility will benefit over twenty villages in the area.
