New sports website unveiled

Africa » Gambia
Monday, May 25, 2009
Gamports.com, a news site dedicated to Gambian sports has been set up in the UK.

Its objective, according Yusupha Cham, one of the initiators, is to add its quota to the very good efforts of the already existing sports media at home, in the collective drive to promote and carry the news on Gambian sports to the world arena.

Lamin Cham, co-initiator said Gambian sports has come to a level where the great achievements attained over the years, especially in football, must be seen to be reflected on its profile around the world and Gamsports, he added, wishes to make the appropriate noise about this and take it to further heights through accurate and fair reporting of the sports news, commentaries and features that will not only portray contemporary issues on Gambian sports but also dig out the past to provide guidance to all stake holders:

He continued: "We wish to extend a warm welcome to all our colleagues at home and abroad to embrace gamsports as one of theirs" "The site which is still being built is available at www.gamsports.com. Further enquiries or articles can be channeled through to the Banjul bureau chief, Sainabou Kujabi of the Point Newspaper.
