Monday, April 20, 2009
The community of Tujereng village in Kombo South has yet witnessed another development with the inauguration of a toilet facility worth D77,000, last Saturday at the school.

The toilet was sponsored by a charitable organisation called Helping Children in The Gambia based in the UK. In his welcoming remarks, the Alkalo of Tujereng village, Karamo S Bojang, thanked the donors for the support they have rendered to the students of the school. He described the toilet facility as another step towards the development of the school.  He assured the donors of the proper management of the toilet.

Malang MS Jatta, the deputy principal of the school, described the toilet facility as  crucial for the school, noting that the school had about 1,200 students.  He thanked the donors for their generousity and concern for the school and advised the students to manage the toilet facility properly.

The project co-ordinator, Bakary Jadama, urged the people of Tujereng to have the sense of responsibility in managing the toilet for the good of the school. He described the efforts of the donors as laudable, as they raised funds in the UK in order to support the children in The Gambia and urged them to continue rendering their  support to the school. Michael, on behalf of the charity, thanked the villagers for appreciating their support.  He described the project as a big one for the village and assured them of their continuous support to the community.

Karamo J Bojang, the school committee chairman, delivered the vote thanks. He thanked the donors for their assistance to the school, adding that the toilet will go a long way in keeping the students comfortably at school.  He described the donors as true partners of the school and assured them of their continuous collaboration.
