The Brufut Inter Ward football tournament continued on Sunday with Newtown playing against Sanchaba A at the Brufut Primary School field. Both teams started well with some good football but it was Sanchaba that dominatedplay in the midfield.

Lamin Colley missed a chance to score in the 20th minute as the two sides went into the break goalless. Ten minutes into the restart, Ousman Gaye of Sanchaba was foiled by the Sanchaba keeper, Ebrima Sonko who saved a goal bound effort, while Muhammed Bojang of Newtown also missed another glorious chance ten minutes later.
