Nigerian military personnel on Gambia study tour

Twenty-four military personnel from the Federal Republic of Nigeria are currently in The Gambia for a weeklong study tour, which will last from 22nd to 27th April 2012.


The delegation comprises of 19 students and five Directing Staff (DS) of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, in Nigeria.

Captain Abdoulie Mboob, the public relations officer of theGambia Armed Forces (GAF) said the Nigerian military personnelvisit is part of the Jaji College curriculum in which students conduct research on various fields of life and at the end of the tour, submit a comprehensive report .


The GAF PRO explained that the theme of this year’s study tour is ‘developing and harnessing the potentials of tourism for the socio-economic development of African states’. He disclosed that the delegation will visit tourism sites and also receive lectures from resources persons from the tourism sector, University of The Gambia and Gambia Investment Promotion Agency (GIPA).
