Nine arraigned for ‘stealing’ aircraft parts

Nine persons were Thursday 7th June, 2012, arraigned before the High Court in Banjul, presided over by Justice Abdulahi Mikailu on three count charge of stealing, conspiracy to commit felony and willful damage to property contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.


The accused persons are; Lamin Dahaba, Ebrima S. Bojang, Lamin Marong, Kebba Badjie, Sedija Sanyang, Sainey Tamba, Malang Sonko, Ebrima Dahaba and Musa Nyabally


According to the particulars of the offence, the accused persons are alleged to have stolen aircraft scrap metal parts and accessories of Slok Air International Limited sometime between 2011 and January 2012 at the Banjul International Airport in Yundum.


The accused persons were further alleged to have willfully caused damage to an aircraft belonging to Slok Air International Limited by removing its parts and accessories on or about the 30th December 2011 at the Banjul International Airport, Yundum.


The accused persons however denied the charges and the presiding Judge, Justice Abdulahi Mikailu ordered that they be remanded in prison custody, pending the next adjournment date on 11th June 2012
