africa » gambia
Friday, March 27, 2009
The annual football championship organised by the National Interdepartmental Sports Association (NISA), will kick-off on Saturday, March 28, at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.

The grand kick-off, which will pit the Gambia Armed Forces against the Immigration side, will be taken by the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Mr Sheriff Gomez. Scores of other dignitaries including the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mrs Fatoumatta Jahumpa-Ceesay, are expected to grace tomorrow's opening ceremony, which will also be characterized by a match pass by the participating companies starting from the Daily Observer to the Independence Stadium.

The President of the association, Major General Langtombong Tamba, is expected to address the teams prior to the kick-off of the seventh edition of the event, which is aimed at fostering unity among Gambian institutions.
