NISA INAUGURATES MEDIA COMMITTEEWednesday, June 27, 2012 The National Inter-Departmental Sports Association (NISA) Tuesday inaugurated its Media Committee for the July 22nd Regional Sports Championship in a ceremony held at the Friendship Hostel Conference Hall. The 10-member Committee includes both the NISA public relations officer and his assistant, Pa Modou Faal and Sulayman Badjie. Other members of the Committee are Baboucarr Camara, Lamin Cham, Hagie Drammeh, Fatou Saho, Abdoulie Fatty, Namory Trawally, Tombong Jadama and Alpha Jallow. Among other things, the members of the Committee will be directly answerable to NISA as a body and at all times and help promote the image of NISA to the general public and to those beyond. The Committee will also help to advance the aims and objectives of NISA towards sub-regional integration, the upcoming regional championship and its efforts in bringing Gambian workers closer. It will also help to clarify issues and speak on behalf of NISA on matters relating to the whole championship. The Committee will help to introduce new acceptable ideals in promoting the activities of NISA in The Gambia and beyond, sensitise the general public about the importance of the July 22nd regional championship, the joint match past and the 11 events to be competed on. The Committee will help to seek donor support, funding or sponsorship of the 11 events through media outreach shows or programmes, to ensure that the visiting Senegalese team of journalists are well looked after, and help facilitate the work of the visiting Senegalese journalists during their stay in The Gambia. It will also provide NISA with the daily activity report right to the end of the championship and perform any other duty as may be sanctioned by the NISA Executive Board. Inaugurating the Committee, the secretary general of NISA, Saihou B Jarju said he has no doubt that the selected journalists will live up to expectation.
