NISA selects new president

Africa » Gambia
Thursday, March 04, 2010
The director general of Gambia Immigration Department, Buba Sanyang, has been named as the new president of National Inter-departmental Sports Association (NISA) a body responsible for organizing sports events among the various institutions in the country.

This announcement was made last Thursday at the Gamstar offices in Banjul, where the executive members of the association had gathered to discuss about the forthcoming departmental football tournament.

The meeting also agreed that this year's event, which will mark the eighth edition of the showpiece, will commence on Friday, March 5, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. A march pass by the participating teams will mark the start of the opening ceremony before the Immigration Department female team lock horns with the Gambia Armed Forces counterparts in last year's rescheduled female final.

The venues identified for hosting the matches are Bakau mini-stadium, Sea View's training ground housed at the Independence Stadium, Cocktail ground in Bakau New Town and Saint Peter's football ground in Lamin.
