Njau councilor hails CDDP

Africa » Gambia
Tuesday, February 02, 2010
The councilor of Njau Ward, Channeh Ceesay, has hailed the officials of the Community Driven Development Project (CDDP) for their effort in providing oxen, farm inputs and also a safe drinking water to five communities in her ward.

He hailed the fact that the project complements the efforts of the council and noted that the provision of oxen, farm inputs and implements has increased production and productivity in her ward and also improved livelihood by increasing the earning capacity of her people. She further pointed out that CDDP is complementing government’s efforts in attaining food self-sufficiency, and expressed hope that the project will reduce some of the hardship the community is encountering.

Madam Channeh Ceesay then seized the opportunity to thank President Jammeh for the numerous development projects undertaken to empower Gambian women to participate in decision making process at both community and national level. She further commended the multi-disciplinary facilitation team for their untiring efforts in assisting the community.
