Wednesday, June 20, 2012

The Old Jeshwang male volleyball team that won two trophies at the 'All Volleyball' championship held in Banjul Saturday organised its first ever exhibition game at the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) Volleyball lawn in Old Jeshwang.

During the exhibition match, the team was divided into two groups, with each namedOusman Wadda and Councillor Sheriff Sarr respectively. Ousman Wadda' team defeated Sheriff Sarr by two sets to one.

Speaking to this reporter, Ajaratou Amie Jobe of Old Jeshwang said volleyball is a game that she loved since her childhood days. A former volleyball player herself, Amie said anytime she watches the game she remembers the olden days.

For his part, Councillor Sheriff Sarr expressed delight at being part of the exhibition game. He urged the boys to take the game seriously and be committed, while assuring of his unflinching support in terms of exposing them. He equally called on the general public to help both morally and financially for the development of the team.

Ebrima Gassama, a native of Old Jeshwang also commended the boys for their commitment and hard work.
