Omar Sonko, widely known by his music name OMS, is another promising Gambian RnB star, currently doing well in the French music scene.

Based in France, OMS, in recent years has been regarded Hip-hop superstar in most cities in France due to his firm stance in promoting positive message especially among African youngsters living in France.

In a recent interview with What’s On, during his recent visit to The Gambia, OMS, spoke of his desire to sing his forthcoming album in English to meet and scout for more fans among Gambians music enthusiasts. "I recently released my debut album in the market but was in French version. But I’m currently strategising plans to sing my forthcoming album in English", he said,

Sonko, who started his musical career way back in 1996, in recent years has been putting a lot of emphasis to hit the global music scene, With his prolific skills in raps music, he widely has the potentials to hit world music scene one day, as he has already made a name for himself in most cities in France. Due to his captivating skills and determination, he continued to attract more fans and music enthusiasts in most French cities.

"I sing about positive messages and mostly target African immigrants living in France. However, my first album is about my autobiography but also touches some other areas like being an immigrant in a French society; this album is a masterpiece especially among young people in France", he told What's On.
Meanwhile, one may be mistaken if you keenly listen to the high quality sound and the lyrical content OMS is trying to put across messages, you may link him to big stars like Usher, Jaz, Marion and other RnB heavyweights. Watch out for this promising Hip-hop sensation, as he has much in stock.
