The interim committee of the Gambia Chess Association will organise an Open chess tournament between April 18 and 19 at the President Award Scheme hall in Bakau.

The tournament will be the first to be organised by the interim committee of the chess association, which was set up by the National Sports Council with a mandate of twelve months some six months ago.

The two-day tournament is open to all categories of players, and there will be male and female champions. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of the first, second and third places in the male and female categories.
