africa » gambia
Tuesday, December 16, 2008
Elizabeth  Jarjue, an oyster collector and a member of the 'Try Oyster Women Kafo', last evening around 7:30 pm, met her untimely death when a car with registration number BJL 5086B knocked her down at 'Kamalo', along the Banjul/Serrekunda Highway, Daily Observer can reveal.

According to eyewitnesses, the late Elizabeth Jarjue was coming from their oyster collection base at 'Kamalo' with her friends and members of the 'Try Oyster Women Kafo'.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle who was identified as one Abdoulie Jallow, a resident of New Jeshwang, said he saw something moving across the road and before he realised that it was a human being, he knocked her down, which resulted to her instant death.

Meanwhile many eyewitnesses believed that the driver was invited by the police for interrogation while the deceased was rushed to the RVTH mortuary.
