The Gambia Paralympics Association will tomorrow depart Banjul for the Tunisian capital of Tunis to take part in a one-week qualification event for the 2012 London Paralympics games later this year.

Speaking to Observer Sports, Sulayman Colley, president of the Gambia Paralympics Association revealed thattwo athletes namely Demba Jarju (who will contest the 100m, 200m and 800m) and Ida Nyang will contest the same events. The team will also include four others.

He also pointed out that the athletes have the capability to perform with honours as they won’t be participating to make up the numbers at the event but rather to qualify The Gambia.

He called on Gambians to pray for the team for a successful campaign. He also thanked President Jammeh for making things happen, adding that without his support they won’t be able to achieve their goals.
