Plane strays off at Banjul Int'l Airport

Report gathered by the Daily Observer revealed that a privately owned jet, at about 1pm yesterday, slightly lost control and strayed into a ditch while taxing.

There were no report of any casualty at the time of going to press. Meanwhile, a press release recieved from The Gambia Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the story. The release states that the privately owned sabreliner 60 (light jet aircraft), registration N103TA, lost control and went into a ditch whilst taxing from the main Apron.At the time of the incident, the release added, there were 5 souls on board including 2 pilots and 2 engineers.  It confirmed that none of the occupants sustained injury, and that they were currently helping with investigations.

The release further stated that GCAA is currently carrying out the necessary  investigations as required by national aviation regulations. It went on to inform the public that the Banjul International Airport is open and operating as normal.
