Africa » Gambia
Monday, September 07, 2009
The ongoing criminal trial involving one Abdou Faal, accused of stealing a bicycle, on Wednesday, resumed at the Kanifing Magistrates Court, as police prosecutor, Corporal Jawo, called on his first prosecution witness.

Giving his testimony before Magistrate BO Jobe of the Kanifing Magistrates Court, one Maisa Jammeh, a plumber who resides in Kombo Madiyana, informed the court that on the 18th of August 2009, his younger brother went with his bicycle to a shop to buy some items, packed the bicycle and entered the shop. Somebody he said, then came and took the bike away.

He further stated that when his brother informed him about the matter, he decided to go around the area to see if he would find the bike. While walking about, he received a call informing him that a man had been caught with a stolen bicycle and taken to the police station.  According to him, when he went to the station, he found the bike.
