One Lamin Jammeh on Monday appeared before Abdoulie Mbake, the senior magistrate of the Kanifing Magistrates Court, charged with assault.

Lamin Jammeh was said to have assaulted a police officer on duty on the 22nd of December 2007 at Bambo in Serekunda. The assault weapon was described as an iron bar. He, however, denied the charge.

The senior magistrate granted him bail in the sum of D10,000.  The case was adjourned to 5th February 2009.
