President Jammeh hosts Libyan leader![]() Thursday, July 23, 2009 The Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, last Tuesday evening, hosted a pre-July 22nd anniversary celebrations reception at the State House garden in Banjul. The Libyan leader, Colonel Muamar Al-Gadafi, who arrived in the country just a few hours earlier as a special guest of the Gambian leader, for the 15th anniversary celebrations of the July 22nd Revolution, was in attendance. Last Tuesday's reception was also attended by the vice president and minister of Women's Affairs, Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy, ministers as well as members of the Libyan delegation accompanying Colonel Ghadafi. The evening also saw in attendance thousands of Gambians, including regional governors and mayors as well as area council chairpersons and local chiefs.
