The Office of the President hereby informs the general public that His Excellency the President of the Republic Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh has married a second wife by the name Ms Alima Sallah, daughter of Mr Omar Gibril Sallah and Mrs Zahra Sallah.

Ms Alima Sallah now goes by the title Lady Alima Yahya Jammeh. She is not to be addressed as the First Lady because according to protocols, there can only be one First Lady, and, in this case that is Madam Zineb Yahya Jammeh. This also serves as official notification to all diplomatic missions accredited to the country, our embassies abroad, countries around the world as well as friends and well-wishers.

The Office of the President wishes to express profound gratitude to all Gambians and non-Gambians alike for their continuous support and solidarity with the first family from 1994 to date, and further solicits your continues prayers and support as we welcome a new member to the first family.
