Rape case transferred to SCCMonday, July 30, 2012 Principal Magistrate Taiwo Ade Alagbe of the Banjul Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday ordered the transfer of a rape case involving the state against Abdou Saidy. The accused, Abdou Saidy is charged with rape, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia. The particulars of the offence stated that the accused, on or about 12th June 2012, at Brikama Nyambai, West Coast Region, unlawfully had carnal knowledge of a lady (name withheld) without her consent. The magistrate made the said order on grounds that his court lacks the jurisdiction to hear the offence charged.
