Editor,

I applaud Mayor Samba Faal and his team for their continued efforts to ensure that the constituents of the Banjul municipality are getting their fair share of city developments that are commensurate with their needs. The good faith payment to NAWEC is a clear demonstration of Mayor Faal's commitment to ensuring that a symbiotic relationship continues to exist between NAWEC and BCC.

Mayor Samba Faal understands that oth institutions are concerns that require adequate resources to continue to co-exist. I also applaud the mayor for providing new funeral vans. The mayor's reference to the original vans being 10 years old and needing be replaced is a classic, coherent, intelligent and effective management tool that emerges from prudent accounting practices, i.e., depreciation of fixed assets.

There is a Wolof saying that goes like this"A bird might be flying high in the air but its mind is on the ground..."   Despite the fact that I am far way from home, I keenly follow our national developments with passion and commitment. God Bless The Gambia.
