The Gambian leader has rewarded farmers from across the country who cultivated farms on his behalf and helped him in his farming activities. His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh’s reward to the farmers came in the form of thousands of bags of sugar as Ramadan gift.

The gift was handed over to the beneficiaries by the secretary general and head of the Civil Service, Dr Njogu Bah, at a ceremony held Tuesday at State House. SG Bah urged the recipients to distribute the sugar accordingly urging them to continue their commitment to the advancement of agriculture. He said the donation is part of the Gambian leader’s annual Ramadan gift in acknowledgement of their hard work and dedication to national development.

The Civil Service boss also urged the beneficiaries to pray for Professor Jammeh’s continued personal wellbeing. He also wished them a successful farming season. Tuesday’s handing over ceremony came barely 24hours after President Jammeh himself presided over the presentation of over 27, 000 bags of sugar to Muslims across the country.
