Thursday, February 05, 2009
Reliance Financial Services, one of the country's leading financial institutions, in collaboration with the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Rotterdam, last Wednesday, convened a one-day leadership and business networking event at the Coconut Residence in Kololi.

The event which targeted professionals interested in discussing topical issues in networking with their professional peers also brought together representatives from diverse sectors of the Gambian economy. The event served as a platform for participants to share experiences.

The session also provided participants with the requisite knowledge on how some simple tools and smart questions can bring out the best in their employees. Baboucarr Khan, chief executive officer of Reliance Financial Services, described leadership as a significant topic for discussion. He spoke on the impact of the current global financial and economic crisis, which he blamed on the way the world's finances are being managed.

The interactive event was also characterised by question and answer sessions. The event was graced by Hon Sheriff Gomez and Hon Abdou Colley, secretaries of state for Youth and Sports, and Trade, Industry and Employment, respectively.
