Rising Gambian star to watchFriday, August 17, 2012 BQ Ifada,
no doubt is another young Gambian artist currently waxing stronger in the
United Kingdom. The star courtesy of UR Kreativity, earlier on released the
much awaited mixtape entitled ‘STOP DI GUN PLAY’ which is also available for
free download. It features about 16 tracks plus bonus videos. Badou
Nyang, widely known by his music sobriquet BQ Ifada, attended a French school
in Banjul. He later moved to Sokone, Senegal, where he continued his education.
BQ also attended Dutch Pop Academy (University SKVR Music School), music school
in Rotterdam (Holland) in 2007. It was at the age of 14 to be precise, when he
started his singing career and had also recorded and performed with different
rap groups and artists from The Gambia, Senegal, Spain, Jamaica, USA, Holland,
Belgium, Brazil to name a few countries. His singing
style and power of lyrics represents a unique talent. He uses a heavy rap flow
mixed with dancehall, reggae and his sweet voice full of emotion. BQ has
emerged from a high quality work combining music research and street
experiences. He also gets a strong spiritual, mystical and emotional site. BQ released his first mixtape entitled ‘DA RISING TIME’ in mid-2008, which he was selling at gigs and on the streets. Due to his versatile skills his talent hasn’t gone unrecognised at the Dutch Pop Academy (University SKVR Music School).
