Sainey Nyassi gains permanent US statusWednesday, February 08, 2012 Almost two years after Abdoulie Kenny Mansally became a United States permanent resident, his Gambian compatriot and New England Revolution teammate Sainey Nyassi has followed suit after the midfielder, a native of Bwiam gained permanent resident status from the U.S. government and will now count as a domestic player on the Revolution’s roster. With the change to Nyassi’s residency status, the Revolution currently has three international players on its roster: Fernando Cardenas (Colombia), Diego Fagundez (Uruguay) and John Lozano (Colombia). The team now has five available international roster slots available. Nyassi originally signed with the Revolution on Aug. 31, 2007, following the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Canada. He has made 103 appearances in his five previous seasons, including 75 starts, while scoring eight goals and adding four assists. Author: Baboucarr Camara | Media Actions See Also |
