SCC inspects numbering machine

The Special Criminal Court (SCC) in Banjul, presided over by Justice Emmanuel Nkea yesterday, 7th May 2012 moved to Bundung Police Station to inspect the alleged serial numbering machine in the criminal trial involving the state against Abdou Willian, Musa Jobe, Tida Badjie and Temple Godson.


The accused persons are charged with four counts of conspiracy to commit felony, forgery of official documents, having in possession implement for forgery and economic crimes, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.


The court however moved to Bundung Police Station after the prosecution led by DPP, S.H Barkun was unable to bring the said serial numbering machine to the said court in Banjul. According to the prosecution, the said numbering machine weighs more than two tons and the police-towing vehicle, which was supposed to bring the said machine to the court has not been functional.


Meanwhile, at the locus, Bundung Police Station where the said numbering machine was kept, PW1 Inspector Lamin Danso, a CID officer identified the said serial numbering machine marked HEIDEBERG recovered at YAF Printing in Kanifing. The said serial numbering machine was tendered and admitted in evidence and marked as Exhibit F and its component as Exhibit F1. After the inspection the court adjourned to the 17th May 2012 for continuation.
