Scorpions tackle French Ligue 2 club![]() Friday, October 09, 2009 The Gambia Scorpions will engage FC Guingamp, a French Ligue 2 side, in an international friendly match today in France. Scorpions' Belgian coach, Paul Put, has called up all his big name players for the tie, which will be Scorpions first competitive match since bowing out of the 2010 joint qualifying round in October 2008. The France test came barely a month after Gambia football authorities called off two proposed friendlies arranged by Coach Paul Put with Belgian First Division clubs. Defending their decision to call off the Belgium friendlies, the Gambia Football Association secretary general, Jammeh EK Bojang, said the Belgian tactician was green light to go ahead with the game, but added that the GFA later decided to call it off after suspecting foul play. The endorsed France friendly, according, secretary general Bojang, is part of the Gambia Football Association's effort to keep the national team active ahead future qualifier matches.
