Friday, December 19, 2008
The Kanifing Magistrate's Court presided over by Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbackeh yesterday convicted one Sheikh Krubally, a Senegalese, and sentenced him to 6 months imprisonment with hard labour.

Sheikh Krubally pleaded guilty to the charge of being in possession of a sheep carcass which he had obtained unlawfully.According to the facts, Sheikh Krubally, on December 2, 2008 at Serrekunda, was found in possession of a carcass suspected to be stolen or unlawfully obtained.

Magistrate Abdoulie Mbackeh, in his judgement, told the court that stealing is a bad habit and the convict (Sheikh) deserves some punishment in order to deter others.

Magistrate Mbackeh then sentenced him to six months with hard labour without any option of a fine.He further ordered that Sheikh Krubally be deported immediately after serving his sentence.
